Program Description
The presentation will be an overview of Parent Child Interaction Therapy. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an empirically-supported, highly specified treatment for young children with behavioral issues. This treatment utilizes a two staged approach aimed at improving a child's behavior and the parent-child relationship. Parents are taught specific skills via live coaching to establish a nurturing and secure relationship with their child while increasing their child’s positive behavior and decreasing negative behavior.
