With nearly 25 years law enforcement experience, Don is currently a major and Administrative Division Commander for the Springfield, Missouri, Police Department. He has served in a variety of assignments, including nine years assigned to his department’s full-time tactical unit in the roles of point man, supervisor, and commander. He is a survivor of four police shootings (1989 – 1997) in both the street patrol and SWAT environment.

Don now lectures and instructs in the public, private, and educational sectors on a variety of topics, including Officer Survival, Rapid Deployment, Special Weapons and Tactics, and Post Shooting Stress. He is an international instructor for the U.S. Department of Justice, International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP).

Don resides in Springfield, Missouri with his wife, Sherri, and two children, Brandon and Ashlee.
