Dawn is a masters prepared clinical social worker with over 18 years experience and recognized competencies in a variety of social work environments including emotionally troubled children/adolescents, chemical dependency, mental health, crisis intervention, child abuse/neglect, trauma and medical social work. Currently, Dawn is a Clinical Social Work Supervisor at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, where she provides clinical coverage to the Emergency Department and supervision to 15 social workers. Dawn received her Bachelor and Masters of Social Work degrees from the University of Kansas where she has also been an Adjunct Faculty Member, teaching a Crisis Intervention course. Dawn is active in the local MO-KAN chapter of the Society for Social Work Leadership in Healthcare and currently serves on the National board. Dawn was recognized as the Social Work Leader of the Year in 2003 by the Society for Social Work Leadership in Healthcare chapter.
